A Master Suite Sanctuary
Dated finishes and three small closets in this master bedroom addition from the 90's made for difficulty in organization and storage. The design resulted in a master suite with a shower and freestanding tub with a view of the tree tops, sky and sunset from the second story space. Clever reconfigurations and a small stolen space above the stairwell gave the client a much needed walk in closet. Custom cabinets in the bedroom and bathroom create storage for large collections of shoes and jewelry. A tub placed to maximize the views from existing windows creates a sanctuary retreat for the client.
I had been wishing to take this step for years after updating most of the other major areas of my home and to take the time to make my private space my own was a deeply personal and empowering endeavor. Meeta was a wonderful partner who helped me truly define my vision and make it a reality. She inspired my creative ideas, ran with my many quirky ones, kept my feet grounded when necessary, and the end result is exactly as I hoped – a lovely, timeless, peaceful sanctuary…with daily soaks in an awesome bathtub.
